One-on-one Nutritional Consultations

 

Ashleigh offers one-on-one nutritional consultations at her practice In Parktown North, Johannesburg as well as online. 

 

Online consulting involves filling in a user-friendly online form, which is followed up by a 1 hour virtual consultation.

An initial consultation involves a thorough assessment of your overall health and well-being, and includes anthropometric measurements (like BMI and body fat) and blood and genetic tests, where necessary. Patients receive individualised meal plans, full colour individualised recipe packs, supplementation advise as well as ongoing nutritional and emotional support and encouragement in the follow ups sessions.

Consultations are covered by most medical aids.

Ashleigh can order and analyse a range of blood tests including glucose and cholesterol monitoring, allergy teasting, monitoring for nutrient deficiencies and hormonal testing.

Ashleigh works together with DNAlysis, a state of the art DNA testing laboratory as well as Lancet Laboratories to help you better understand the right diet for your specific constitution. These tests are only recommended under certain circumstances. 

Ashleigh also offers advanced hormone testing or DUTCH (Dry Urine Testing) and analysis as well as GI MAP (stool testing and microbiome analysis)

Certain dietitians are registered with vitality to perform Vitality Nutrition Assessments. Vitality days can be organized through me and Discovery Health and include nutrition, biokinetic and blood assessments all done in one day. The Vitality Nutrition Assessment

The Vitality Nutrition Assessment is an easy-to-use electronic assessment and is based on the latest evidence-based nutrition information. Vitality members are assessed at a Vitality Dietitian Network recognised practice. The assessment takes approximately half an hour to complete. The assessment highlights the key healthy lifestyles indicators with particular emphasis on nutritional health. The electronic programme that has been developed will provide relevant recommendations.

Vitality members will earn 1000 points for seeing a dietician

If you are overweight and qualify for the Vitality Weight Loss Rewards, then you can earn up to 10000 points per annum

Ashleigh, in conjunction with other wellness partners, can tend to all your corporate wellness needs.

Ashleigh has been involved in health journalism for almost 15 years. Her articles have appeared in a number of South African magazines, newspapers and online platforms, including Longevity Magazine, Shape, Marie Claire, Cosmo, Living and Loving and Business Day Health News.

Ashleigh also writes for various international companies, websites and blogs on a wide range of health related topics.

Yoga Classes &
Teacher Trainings

Ashleigh took her first yoga class at the age of 21 and knew from that day on that she would be doing yoga for the rest of her life.

She has explored many styles of yoga including Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow and Hot Yoga. She is deeply fascinated by yoga philosophy and incorporates it into her daily life.

Her style of teaching could be described as creative Vinyasa Flow with an emphasis on challenging sequencing and transitions and special attention to the breathe. She believes a yoga class should be both challenging and relaxing and should not ignore the subtle aspects of yoga and the ultimate point of the practice, which is to find stillness and peace.​

 

Ashleigh is an E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and owner of the HFPA Yoga School in South Africa
